HAMLIN – A Hamlin man, charged with murdering his wife in late 2017, is seeking transcripts from grand jury proceedings and from his appearances in magistrate court. The accused is facing trial in early 2020 after the second anniversary of the slaying of the victim.
The case of Edward Earl Jeffers, 32, was called in Lincoln County Circuit Court on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. One of Jeffers’ two defense attorneys, Robbie Long was present, as was Lincoln County Assistant Prosecutor Jackie Stevens. The accused had been transported from the Western Regional Jail earlier in the day. He’s been held there since December 27, 2017, a few days after the killing of his wife.
